Clear Aligners
Clear aligner treatment moves the teeth gradually into the planned position using custom-made removable aligners. The aligners are replaced at set intervals.
How is the treatment planned?
The current position of your teeth is recorded with digital impressions and imaging. The plan determines in which order and how far the teeth will move.
The planned movement is shared with you before treatment begins; how many stages the process will take becomes clear from this plan.
Daily use
The aligners are worn throughout the day, except when eating and brushing. Treatment progressing as planned depends on the aligners being worn for the recommended time.
Progress is assessed at check-ups held at set intervals, and you move on to the next set of aligners.
After treatment
Once treatment is complete, a retention period is planned so that the teeth keep their new position. How this period will proceed is explained at the end of treatment.
Questions about this treatment
Do clear aligners affect speech?
There may be a short adjustment period in the first few days. After this period, no noticeable difficulty in everyday speech is expected.
How long does the treatment take?
The duration depends on how far the teeth need to move and on the aligners being worn for the recommended time. Your individual duration is shared once planning is complete.
