Smile Design
Smile design is not a single procedure but a planning approach. The shape and colour of your teeth are assessed together with your lip line, your smile line and your facial proportions to decide which treatments should be combined.
Planning
At the first consultation we talk about your expectations: understanding what you would like to change, and what matters to you, is where planning begins.
Your current situation is then assessed with an intraoral examination, photographs and digital records. Which treatments are needed is decided based on this assessment.
Seeing it before treatment begins
Digital planning makes it possible to discuss the likely outcome together before treatment starts. This way we can assess in advance whether the plan matches your expectations.
Once you approve the plan we move on to the treatment stage, progressing with interim assessments along the way.
Questions about this treatment
Which treatments does smile design include?
The scope differs from person to person. Crowns, laminates, gum contouring, whitening or orthodontic treatment may be planned on their own or in combination. Which treatments are needed is decided after the examination.
How long does the treatment take?
The duration depends on the scope of the planned treatments. A plan involving only crowns takes a different amount of time from one that also includes orthodontic treatment; the exact duration is shared once planning is complete.
